This course is designed for adult educators, NGO staff, and trainers working with refugees and marginalized groups. It addresses the critical need to translate “refugee voices” into active civic participation. Participants will master non-formal education methods to teach democracy, learn how to use mobile digital tools for advocacy (podcasts, video), and explore strategies to foster intercultural dialogue. The training aims to transform learners from passive beneficiaries into active democratic actors.
Target Audience:
Adult educators and trainers.
NGO staff working with refugees and migrants.
Social workers and community leaders.
The course combines theoretical input with practical “creation labs.” Participants will produce their own digital stories and design a “Civic Participation Workshop” model to implement back home.
To train participants in non-formal education methods, simulations, and dialogue techniques specifically designed for teaching democracy and rights to adult learners.
To provide practical skills in “mobile-first” digital storytelling (video, podcast, photography) enabling educators to guide learners in producing high-quality advocacy content.
To develop strategies that help refugees and marginalized groups transition from being passive beneficiaries to active, visible actors in democratic life.
To enhance intercultural facilitation skills, enabling educators to manage diverse groups and promote exchange between migrant communities and host societies.
To ensure learning outcomes are recognized through European frameworks such as Europass Mobility and DigComp 2.2.
