Entrepreneurship education pursues the development on students of the knowledge, skills and motivation to encourage entrepreneurial success in a diversity of settings. Each level of education, from primary school until graduate university level variations of entrepreneurship education are offered since the competences and abilities to be developed are in tune with the main pedagogical goals to be pursued in each age and maturity level of education. In the European Union the currently accepted and implemented model of entrepreneurship education is based on Heinonen and Poikkijoki (2006) that has the main objective to provide students with the attitudes, knowledge and skills for entrepreneurial action, having the different dimensions of education for entrepreneurship to be deployed in multiple categories, which constitute the framework of the various learning outcomes implemented and achieved by the countries of the European Union.
As educators and education leaders, we must explore new ways to transform education to address myriad challenges in an increasingly complex world. If we are to prepare students for their future, we can no longer rely on traditional education models. We must re-think education in order to design educational experiences and environments that meet the needs of children today.
Entrepreneurship education is considered as a collection of formalized teachings that informs, educates, and trains anyone concerned in business establishment. Entrepreneurship education may also be defined as a pedagogical process which supports entrepreneurial activities, behaviors and outlook.21st-century skills are an integral part of entrepreneurship education.
